Alpine

The brief

Alpine Hearing Protection is a Dutch earplug brand. Build in Amsterdam renewed the brand's identity, packaging and online store, with the goal of moving Alpine from a purely functional brand to a lifestyle one. The store had to carry that new identity while selling across many European markets from a single Shopify Plus setup.

What I did

• Developed the Shopify Plus storefront as the team's senior Shopify developer, working with designers, strategists and the Alpine team.
• Built custom features in Liquid and JavaScript on a custom Online Store 2.0 theme: configurable sections for varied layouts and a theming system that applies Alpine's color palette flexibly across pages.
• Worked on the multi-market experience: one store serving the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, the Nordics, Spain, Italy, the UK and Canada in nine languages.
• Optimized storefront performance and Core Web Vitals, in a build that also had to meet WCAG accessibility requirements.

The result

A modular storefront whose configurable components combine 3D renders and lifestyle photography, running as one Shopify Plus store behind both alpine.nl and the international domain.
